The machine, which runs at 200 jars a minute, was particularly suited for the handling of bulky products, such as pickled onions, mixed pickles and cut cabbage. The system ensures very accurate filling when compared with traditional methods of just filling the jar to the top regardless of weight.
The system consisted of a multi-head weigher mounted above the filling machine, which is a combination volumetric/piston filler.
The product was fed to the multi-head weigher in the conventional manner and the accurately pre-weighed product then drops to a wide mouth funnel, rotating below the multi-head weigher. The funnel which is mounted above the containers as they rotate around the machine, vibrates and feeds the product into the containers. A piston then travels down ensuring all product is fed into the container.
Depending on usage and the value of the product, pay back can often be achieved in less than one year, with this system.
