Femia was founded by a team of French engineers in 1962, using their collective experience they rapidly introduced completely new techniques and ideas into the vegetable processing industry

Femia design and manufacture a complete range of vegetable processing equipment for canning, freezing and dehydration plants. They specialise in the processing of garden peas, green beans, sweetcorn, spinach, cauliflower and similar products.

Femia is also in a position to undertake studies for layout and installation of complete processing lines for the above vegetables, offering solutions for specific requirements for individual customers. The capacity of their equipment generally falls in the range of 1 - 20 tonnes per hour dependant upon the particular vegetable to be handled.

Typical Products include:
Reception of product at the factory, .Cleaning (fan separators, destoners, washers, vibrating cleaners), Grading of pea and green beans, Grading, snipping and cutting of green beans

Trimming and calibrating various vegetables

Blanching and cooling of all vegetables (water or steam blanching)

Filling in cans or jars (vegetables and fruits)

Conveyor systems between machines, including vibrating conveyors and hydraulic elevators.
